Books

The books listed on this site fall into two different categories:

Epic Fantasy Romance

These books fulfill all the requirements of the Epic Fantasy genre and all the requirements of the Romance genre. They could be shelved either in SFF or in romance. An Epic Fantasy Romance is set in a non-Earth fantasy world featuring magic and/or fantastical creatures. It features a romantic couple who achieve their “happily ever after” by the end of the book.

In an Epic Fantasy Romance series, each book in the series will feature a different romantic couple, and each book will end in a “happily ever after.” There are no cliffhanger endings. The series may feature an overarching story that continues from book to book. Click here to view our list of Epic Fantasy Romances.

Epic Fantasy with Romance Elements

These books fulfill the requirements of the Epic Fantasy genre but only some of the requirements of the Romance genre. These books would be shelved in SFF. An Epic Fantasy with Romance Elements is set in a non-Earth fantasy world featuring magic and/or fantastical creatures. It features a romantic couple, but the romance may be less prominent than some of the other story elements, and the book will not necessarily end in a “happily ever after.”

In an Epic Fantasy with Romance Elements series, the romance may develop over the course of multiple books instead of having a complete romance with “happily ever after” in each book. A series of this type may feature the same romantic couple in every book and show how their relationship develops over time. Click here to view our list of Epic Fantasy novels with Romance Elements.
